Measures (from Sept 2016)	Explanation
Progress 8	This is based on the students’ progress across 8 subjects (English and maths; 3 other EBacc. subjects, 3 further GCSE subjects). A Progress 8 score with a ‘+’ next to it means that the score is significantly above the national average
Attainment 8	This measures the student’s average achievement across their best 8 subjects
% Grade 5+ English & Mathematics	This shows the % of students who have achieved a higher pass in both English and mathematics. In the case of English, their best grade from English Language or English Literature will count.
% entering EBacc.	This shows the % of students who took up to 8 GCSEs or equivalents, across the 5 subject 'pillars' of English language and English literature, maths, sciences, a language and history or geography
EBacc. average points score	The EBacc APS calculates a pupil's average point scores across the 5 pillars of the English Baccalaureate
