This page provides all the key information about the school which as parents you need to know.

If you need to report your child’s absence, please email attendance@gillotts.org or call 01491 636812 on each day of absence. These details should also be used to make an absence request of any kind. Please note, if your child has an appointment during the school day you must give us prior notice using the above details, otherwise it may be recorded as an unauthorised absence. We may also refuse to allow a student to sign out for an appointment if we have had no contact from a parent or guardian.

At Gillotts School, we use the My Child At School (MCAS) engagement platform, which provides information to parents, students and staff about key aspects of school life.

Self Sign Up Guide

To sign up on any web browser, please go to www.mychildatschool.com and use the ‘Sign Up’ button on the landing page. Follow the instructions on the Self Sign Up Guide pdf which can be found below to create your account.

Allowing Notifications on the App

It is really important that if  you are using the app version of MCAS that you allow push notifications when prompted. This will allow you to receive certain communication via a push notification on your phone instead of an email to your inbox.

Account Creation

MCAS will only create accounts for parents who have Parental Responsibility or are Priority 1 contacts on our system. Broadly speaking, if you receive school communications, you will be able to set up an account using the email address that receives the communication.

The registered email address MUST be the same email address that is on our school database to be able to create an account.

Once you are logged into MCAS, you can view the following information:

• Achievements
• Behaviours
• Attendance (and the ability to report absences)
• Detentions
• Homework
• Timetable
