Help young people in your school develop their confidence and gain work experience by informing them of the opportunity to volunteer to help with The Big Friendly Read Summer Reading Challenge at their local library. They can also use the experience for the ‘community’ element of a Duke of Edinburgh award.
The opportunities are for young people aged 13 – 24, at any time from 16 July –17 September.
The young people will receive training and support to make it an enjoyable volunteering experience, and will work to enhance the experience for the children and families completing the reading challenge. Other tasks will involve:
Young people who would like to get involved should contact their local library, or visitwww.oxfordshire.gov.uk/
